This simple system is not meant to replace a good, solid racing handicap, but if you want a simple system to help you hit more daily multipliers, here’s something you can use. The nice thing about it is that it is a fast horse racing system and an easy system as well. Before you pawn the farm and race to the track to get rich, however, here is some concession, this method of hitting the daily doubles is just for fun and entertainment. It is not intended as an incentive to gamble and you should never risk more than you can afford to lose.
Now that we’re out of that way, let’s talk about doubles and betting. As you probably know, the daily doubles is an odd bet that involves picking the winner of one race, called Leg A and then the winner of a back-to-back race, Leg B. You can enter on a horse to win one leg with multiple horses in the next race or just play multiple horses in one leg with multiple horses in the other leg. We’ll call that the box bet.
Now here’s where things get a little tricky and you have to be a detective. Start by noticing how often one leg of the Daily Doubles has an outstanding horse that is much better than the others and usually wins. You’ll find this happens mostly on Saturdays and holidays. The higher the bag in the race, the better the quality of the horses, and usually the easier they are to handicap, with a few exceptions, of course.
On weekdays when the crowds are usually smaller, they do card races for cheap claimants and keg bottom types. These horses do not hold their shape and therefore it is difficult to see clearly which horse will win. If you start following the value of the bag and the winners of the program’s first two races for each day of the week, you’ll soon see what I mean. So look at both races and see if the race secretary has put up a race with an easy winner to help out the crowd. This is your key to whether or not you should risk a daily double bet.
If there is such an easy race, this is your main race. If you follow the races at your favorite track and keep track of the cash amounts and percentage of favorite winners, you will soon develop the ability to detect which race the track gives you. It is easy to determine which winner is your main horse. Insert it on some of the horses in the second race shown directly on the load board and you’ll often get your daily winning multiplier.
